Electric Vehicle Charging

EV CHARGING STATIONS

The City is expanding electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the City to provide options for refueling electric vehicles.

DC Fast Chargers (which can fully charge an electric vehicle in under a half hour) are available at the Transit Center Garage adjacent to the downtown Caltrain Station platform. These chargers are part of the nrg EVgo network (www.nrgevgo.com) and their system fees apply. Parking meter fees are still enforced for vehicles using the chargers.

Level 2 electric vehicle chargers, through the Chargepoint network, are available at the Main Library and the Central Garage (street level between B Street and Ellsworth). The fee to use the chargers is $0.25 per kwh. Parking fees are still enforced for vehicles using the chargers and must be paid at the pay station in the garage.

In addition, several privately owned electric vehicle chargers are also available for public use within the downtown. To view locations of available public electric vehicle chargers in San Mateo and the applicable fees visit the Plugshare.com website.
